While conventions and big reveals have been rather short as we deal with this pandemic, there are some exciting items on the way. This “Preview” will be part of a series of Previews highlighting upcoming toy sets that we either have already been made aware of (and have orders placed for!), or are just rumored. Some items we do already have a handful of pictures for that had been revealed before conventions and expos were shut down, others will only have some vague references. None of these items, even the ones we already have our orders in for, can be listed for pre-order until we get the green light from the manufacturers and distributors. So this is just a preview of things to come. When these items are available for pre-order, we’ll make another announcement and have the items listed for sale.
Our fifth Preview is of the Marvel Legends Venom wave. Now, we are going to make some definite assumptions here, because there were some “Venomized Heroes” revealed at the conventions before COVID-19 shut things down. When we were given the information on this wave, we asked if this was the Venomized Heroes, and were told that that information had not been revealed yet, BUT, 2 of the figures we saw Venomized are in this wave, so we’re making the assumption that they are the same figures we have previously seen.
So who are those 2 figures already revealed? First we have the Venomized “Ghost Spider.” Ghost Spider has been confirmed to be in this wave, and since this image was revealed, we think its a pretty safe bet that this is the figure coming in this set. As you can see, this is Ghost Spider (or also known as Spider Gwen) bonded with one of the alien symbiotes (hence, “Venomized”). She has one long tongue!
The second figure that we know is included in the wave, and we have also seen a Venomized version of, if the Miles Morales Spider-Man. A little more of a traditional symbiote look for Miles than there was with Ghost Spider.
The release itself is going to have six figures and a Build-a-Figure, and is anticipated to be released in July or August. While we do not know whether one of these figures is the Build-a-Figure or not, we were told of six figures that were going to be in this set, including the aforementioned Ghost Spider and Miles Morales, as well as Carnage, Morbius, Phage, and Venom. I’ll be real curious to see the figure reveals to see if this version of Carnage and Venom, as well as Morbius, are movie inspired or additional versions of comic-inspired characters. Either way, the original Venom release sold out quick, and with Venom 2 and Morbius coming out, this set could easily follow in its footsteps.
