ACB Preview: Marvel Legends All Things X

There’s been several reveals of upcoming toys through a variety of events, including San Diego Comic Con, New York Comic Con, Canada Fan Expo, Comic Con Paris, MCM London, and more. We’ll piece together all toys we’re seeing relating to the X-Men and affiliated teams. With early teasers, we’ll be waiting for formal release announcements by Hasbro with official product pictures and release mixes. But this will serve as a nice sneak peak of some things to come.

Let’s start off with the new vehicles. Hasbro has been doing well with the vehicle releases, including the motorcycles with Wolverine, Black Widow, and Ghost Rider (all currently available to order in our Shop!). 2019 will see a slight shift away from the current motorcycle releases, but still along the same theme of vehicles or larger accessories. Following up on a pair of 2018 Deadpool waves (both currently available to order in our Shop!), 2019 will see Deadpool and some furry friends like Dogpool and Squirrelpool on the back of a red scooter, just like the one he rode in the movie Deadpool 2.

The other announced “vehicle” is long overdue – Professor Xavier and his hover chair! Adding Professor Xavier into all of the recent X-Men waves (wave 3 currently available in our Shop, and wave 2 is on backorder and should be coming soon) is a must have. The man who first formed the X-Men and guided and trained them in the use of their powers.

But if you look closely to the left of Professor Xavier, you’ll see a head that is familiar to comic fans – the Shadow King! While only his head comes with Professor Xavier, his head will fit on and be interchangeable with the 2019 Spider-Man release featuring Kingpin as a Build a Figure. So you can have King Pin, OR the Shadow King when you build your figure! Here is an image of the Shadow King from the comics:

But there have also been several figures announced for 2019, along with two different Build a Figures (both Caliban and Wendigo), so presumably there will be at least two X-Men waves in 2019. Here are images of the Build a Figures:

The core members of the X-Men that have been announced, are Beast, Blink, Forge, Gambit, Jubilee, and Wolverine in his Weapon X appearance. Beast recently came out in the Diamond Select line (available now in our Shop!), but it’s nice to get him in the Marvel Legends line, too. Gambit is long overdue and looks amazing. It’s also nice to have Jubilee in her classic costume (though she had previously been a Build a Figure, this time she will be a regular release). Blink is also a nice addition, especially with her being one of the main characters on the television show The Gifted. Forge is nice, though I’m holding out hope for an updated Thunderbird or Warpath (a Warpath Build a Figure would be pretty cool).

From allies of the X-Men (well, guess it depends on which comics you read!), there’s the leader of Alpha Flight: Guardian. Also from Alpha Flight is Sasquatch, who is the Build a Figure from Deadpool Wave 1 (now available in our Shop!). Hopefully this means we’ll see some more members of Alpha Flight make their way into the Marvel Legends line, too, and gradually increase their numbers. Guardian is nice, but I’d like to see his wife Vindicator more. In time, hopefully.

Guardian

Also long overdue is Mystique. She has been so prominently displayed in the movies by Jennifer Lawrence with such a major role, both as a member of the X-Men and against them, yet when I was looking for her I had to buy her from a different toy line in auction. Good to see her being added, or at least a new release, to the Marvel Legends line.

Mystique

Last is one of the members of the Reavers. A team of cyborgs that caused the X-Men some difficulty over the years. Announced is Skullbuster. Like my comment with Guardian and Alpha Flight, I can only assume (and hope) that Skullbuster is the beginning of a gradual release of the Reavers (though I would have rather had the Marauders before the Reavers!).

That’s what I’ve seen so far. I’m sure there will be more to come (Nightcrawler! Please!). Check back for updates, and when these toys are officially announced we’ll have them available for pre-order!
